What is involved?
Career planning requires an understanding of the concerned person (the candidate) in terms of interest, academic potential, personality, talents & aptitudes, values, expectations and resources. Moreover, as parental preferences have been found to influence career decisions, parental Counseling is as important as Counseling the candidate.
The two phases of career guidance:
Testing: In this phase the candidate undergoes a series of tests that assess the various dimensions mentioned above.
counseling: The candidate and the parents are required to attend this session with the counselor. Based on the test results, keeping in mind the available resources and the individual & parental preferences, the counsellor facilitates the decision-making.
